What is dual-band overdrive?
Well, it might be the biggest breakthrough in the realm of distortion in decades. Dual-band overdrive means you have two distortion pedals: one for bass, one for treble. The variable crossover splits the sound wherever you choose. You decide how clean or dirty you want each channel, then layer them together according to your taste. You've never heard distortion this big, this clear, this multi-dimensional. The dual-band architecture is so versatile that you can do more than simply EQ your distortion - you can re-voice your entire sound, while remaining true to your instrument's tone. Great for bass guitar & other instruments. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE XD-2 |
The Basilisk is basically a hot-rodded version of the XD2, at least in the boost channel. Where the XD2 seeks to provide overdrive which is as transparent as possible in both channels, the Boost channel of the Basilisk engages a totally new gain circuit which provides true distortion, with all the coloration, saturation, sustain, and compression that high gain players could hope for. The first channel remains the same triple-gain-stage cascaded mosfet overdrive circuit as in XD2, while the Boost channel now inserts the new distoriton circuit as a fourth gain stage. More distortion, our compliments. We hope you enjoy.

If the Crossover Distortion was an invitation to join the realm of sonic goodness know as dual-band signal processing, the Ouroboros may represent the keys to the kingdom. The Ouroboros provides you with our variable crossover and two effects loops: one for high frequencies, one for lows. Now you can apply completely different effects to your high and low frequencies - the ultimate in layered effects goodness. The Ouroboros opens doors to new effects-based tones which were previously only possible in the studio. It can also do parallel and series configurations, and even works with line-level rackmount effects.
